Getting a "can't verify the developer" warning?
If you see a warning on first launch, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway". Open source software usually isn't signed with an Apple developer certificate, which is normal.

Installation Steps
- macOS DMG: Open the DMG file and drag the Joplin icon into the Applications folder. If you see a warning that it cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer, right-click the app in Finder and choose "Open", or allow it in "System Settings > Privacy & Security".
- macOS PKG: Double-click the PKG file and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- Windows EXE: Double-click the installer and follow the wizard; the portable version can be run directly by double-clicking it.
First Run
- The first launch may be slightly slow; please be patient.
- You can start by creating a local notebook to begin taking notes. The sync feature requires configuring a cloud service account (Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.) in the settings.
