Getting a "can't verify the developer" warning?
If you see a warning on first launch, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway". Open source software usually isn't signed with an Apple developer certificate, which is normal.
Clicking "Download" takes you to a source confirmation page first; the download starts after confirmation.

Windows builds may not be code-signed yet, which could trigger SmartScreen warnings during installation or launch. macOS releases are expected to be signed and notarized, but if Gatekeeper still warns, please verify the download source. This is an open-source project under GPL-3.0, and the built-in AI features rely on external services; review the project's privacy policy before use.

Installation Guide
Choose the package that matches your operating system and CPU architecture. Recommended files are marked on this site.
Windows (x64)
- Installer (recommended): download
Netcatty-1.1.78-win-x64.exe, run it and follow the setup wizard. - Portable: download
Netcatty-1.1.78-portable-win-x64.exe, run it directly without installation. - For updates, download the latest release from GitHub Releases.
If Windows SmartScreen shows “Unknown publisher”, click “More info” → “Run anyway”. The current Windows build may not be code-signed yet.
macOS

Open the DMG and drag Netcatty into the Applications folder. If Gatekeeper warns that the app is from an unidentified developer on first launch, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click “Open Anyway”, or right-click the app icon and select Open.

First-run troubleshooting
- macOS “cannot be opened”: see above.
- Windows unsigned warning: see above.
- Linux AppImage fails to start: make sure FUSE is installed; on older distros you may need
--appimage-extract-and-run.

How do I update Netcatty?

What should I do if macOS blocks the app?

Netcatty supports SSH, Telnet, Mosh, and serial connections when available, plus a local terminal.
