Getting a "can't verify the developer" warning?

If you see a warning on first launch, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway". Open source software usually isn't signed with an Apple developer certificate, which is normal.

Clicking "Download" takes you to a source confirmation page first; the download starts after confirmation.

FAQ

Is OBS Studio free?

Yes. OBS Studio is completely free and distributed under the GPL-2.0 open-source license. Anyone can use and redistribute it.

What operating systems are supported?

Windows, macOS, and Linux are officially supported. You can download the corresponding package, such as an .exe for Windows, a .dmg for macOS, or a .deb for Ubuntu.

How do I update to a new version?

OBS Studio typically shows an update prompt when a new release is available. You can also visit the official GitHub Releases page or the OBS website to download the latest version. This page presents version 32.2.1.

What are the PDBs or dSYMs files in the download list? Do I need them?

Those are debug symbol files used by developers to diagnose crashes and issues. Ordinary users do not need them; just download the installer or the portable archive for your platform.

What if macOS says the app cannot be opened?

That is a Gatekeeper security warning. Right-click the app and choose Open, or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click 'Open Anyway'.
