Getting a "can't verify the developer" warning?
If you see a warning on first launch, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway". Open source software usually isn't signed with an Apple developer certificate, which is normal.
Clicking "Download" takes you to a source confirmation page first; the download starts after confirmation.

Installation Guide
- Download the latest installer Maya.dmg from Releases (macOS only).
- Double-click Maya.dmg and drag the Maya.app icon into the Applications folder.
- Double-click Maya in Applications to launch.
Note: Maya is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so it should normally open with a simple double-click without extra permission in System Settings. If you see "cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" on first launch, check that your macOS version is 26.3 or later, and try right-clicking the app and selecting Open. If it still doesn't open, make sure "App Store and identified developers" is allowed in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Is Maya free?
Yes, Maya is open source under the MIT license and free to use for both personal and commercial purposes.
What systems are supported?
macOS only, requiring macOS 26.3 (Tahoe) or later. There is currently no Windows or Linux version.
Which iPhone device frames are supported?
Currently built-in frames include multiple official titanium color options for iPhone 17 Pro, 16 Pro, and 15 Pro, as well as an unbranded generic frame and a rounded-corner-only mode.
How do I export a video with a transparent background?
Select 'None' in the background settings. The export will generate a .mov file with HEVC + Alpha, which can be overlaid in other video editing software.
How do I update to a new version?
Go to the project's GitHub Releases page, download the latest Maya.dmg, and replace the old app. You can also build from source.
