Install guide

Choose the right file

  • For x64 machines, download Seelen.UI_2.8.2_x64-setup-fixed.exe (recommended). If you run into issues, try Seelen.UI_2.8.2_x64-setup.exe.
  • For ARM64 devices, use Seelen.UI_2.8.2_arm64-setup-fixed.exe or Seelen.UI_2.8.2_arm64-setup.exe.
  • Alternatively, you can install the MSIX package: Seelen.UI_2.8.2.0_x64.Msix (x64) or Seelen.UI_2.8.2.0_arm64.Msix (ARM64).

Installation steps

  1. Run the .exe installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. For .msix, double-click the file and click "Install" in the Windows App Installer dialog. Follow the system prompts to complete installation.

First-run notes

  • White/dark screen on startup: This is common on fresh Windows installs. Run Windows Update, restart your PC, and try again.
  • Missing WebView2 or Edge: Make sure Microsoft Edge and the WebView2 Runtime are installed. Windows 11 includes both; the Windows 10 .exe installer bundles WebView2, but the .msix does not.
  • Installation failures: Try the other .exe installer (e.g., the non-fixed version) and make sure you run it as administrator.

Is Seelen UI free?

Yes. Seelen UI is released under the AGPL-3.0 open-source license, so it is free to download, use, and study.

Does it support Windows 7 or Windows 8?

No. Seelen UI only supports Windows 10 and Windows 11.

How do I update to a new version?

You can get automatic updates through the Microsoft Store or winget. If you installed from GitHub Releases, the .exe installer will show in-app update notifications. You can also manually download the latest installer and run it over the current installation.

Is Simplified Chinese supported?

Yes. Seelen UI offers more than 70 languages, including Simplified Chinese, and you can switch the interface language in settings.
